NBA: Playoffs-Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans

The Warriors and Pelicans arguably played the most exciting fourth quarter of the post-season. After being down 20 in the fourth, the Warriors battled back and tied the game with a miraculous shot from Steph Curry.

This is the first time the Pelicans are in the post-season and it showed in Game 3. The Pelicans could taste the victory, but they made some rookie mistakes down the stretch. Now, the Pelicans face a 3-0 deficit in the series, which in NBA history means that the Warriors are a lock to advance to the next round.

Even with all the odds stacked against them, Tyreke Evans still has the utmost confidence in his team. According to John Reid of NOLA.com, Evans believes the Pelicans have the better team:

”I think we know that we can beat them and we probably got a better team than them and it’s just that they are more experienced and they know how to win together,” Evans said. ”It’s about us getting together as a team you know and the bad moment that we had just next time we get in that position how can we handle it.”

There is such a thing as being over confident and Evans has likely reached that point. The Pelicans have showed some flashes where they look like a really good team, but they are simply not consistent. It all starts with Anthony Davis, but his supporting cast will need this playoff experience to improve moving forward.

Evans is clearly out of his mind as there is no question the Warriors are the better team in this series. After letting the last game slip away, the Pelicans are hungry for a win, but the Warriors could benefit from the extra rest.

Will the Warriors have the killer instinct to put the Pelicans away or will Anthony Davis lead his team to victory and send this series back to the Bay? We will find out tonight.
