First year head coach Steve Kerr has been impressive through 15 games with the Golden State Warriors. Boasting the league’s second best record, the Warriors are looking like a legitimate threat. With great shooting, high-effort defense, roster depth, and coaching the players buy into; this Warriors team has it all.
As a player, Steve Kerr spent five seasons and won three championship rings with the Chicago Bulls. As we all know, the face of that franchise is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan. Today, Jordan is the majority of an up and coming Charlotte Hornets basketball franchise. According to Rusty Simmons of the SF Chronicle, Jordan had some encouraging words for Kerr:

Although the Warriors defeated the Hornets and forced them to extend their losing streak to eight, Jordan has shown the respect he has towards his friend. By calling Kerr “kid”, Jordan still sees him as his little brother. The Warriors organization turned the basketball team over to Kerr in May and that decision has looked brilliant. In retrospect, he also made the right decision by spurning the New York Knicks for Golden State.
Kerr’s philosophy and game plan has the Warriors competing on both ends of the floor. On offense, they are currently 3rd in points per game at 107.3 but average 25.9 assists per game which is good enough for 1st. The defensive end is averaging nearly 45 rebounds (5th) and only allow 96.7 points per game (96.7). They will look cap their perfect road trip and conclude at the Palace in Auburn Hills against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
Kerr is doing a great job so far and he is getting max efforts from the team. He has the team more focused and ready to not lose games that they should win, more so than Jackson. Still not sure if the Dubs are elite until they can beat the Spurs, Grizz, and OKC when Durante and Westbrook are there, but they are better than last year. Still would like to see more punch from power forward than David Lee.
