If you go off of what Draymond Green says, the Golden State Warriors will be the first team in NBA history to ever go 41-0 at home during a single season. The current record is 40-1 by the 1985-86 Boston Celtics during a season in which they went 67-15 and went on to win the championship. This would just be another record for the Warriors to hang on the wall.

Going 41-0 at home does seem absurd, but Golden State’s schedule might lend itself to that being attainable when you really peel back the layers and look at it. For instance, their next six home games are against Orlando, Utah, Portland, Phoenix, New Orleans, and New York. Out of those, Portland seems like the biggest threat. But they can’t take any of those games for granted.

From Scott Howard Cooper of NBA dot com:

“I think so,” [Draymond Green] told NBA.com. “We’ve been phenomenal at home. We’ve protected our home court. I think it’s possible for us to do it.”

He’s not lying. It is possible for them. The team has 15 home games left, and they’d need to, obviously, win all of them. There are some tough opponents in there, including games against the Clippers on March 23, a game against the Spurs on April 7th, and a game against the Celtics, who took them to double overtime, on April 1st. The astounding thing is that the Warriors can win all of those.

When the Celtics went 40-1 at home during the 1985-86 season, they also managed to go 10-0 at home in the playoffs. It’ll be interesting to watch as Golden State attempts to not only win every single regular season home game, but also keep an unblemished postseason home record. With this team, nothing is out of the realm of possibility.
