The USA Basketball Showcase was supposed to be a great display of basketball consisting of some of the greatest players in the NBA. During the fourth quarter, George suffered a horrific injury to his right leg after chasing James Harden on a fastbreak and landing awkwardly on the padding underneath the basket. The game would not continue and rightfully so, the entire team and arena was shocked.

Klay Thompson sad

Klay Thompson and Steph Curry both started the game for their respective teams and showed they are worthy of making the final roster. Unfortunately, Team USA must move on, but George will make a full recovery, but it will likely take 12 to 18 months. No word on when they will announce the 12-man roster, but both “Splash Brothers” have a good shot of heading to Spain in late August.

Our Warriors World Forum was quiet today, with most of the talk centered around Paul George, football, and baseball. Kevin Love always pops up, but it seems to be dying down. Here are today’s best forum topics:

Love deal is expected Aug. 23 or Aug. 24..continue to listen to offers from GSW and Chicago

Who do y’all play at the 3 now in a lineup of Davis/Durant/Splash Brothers?

    Centre: Andre Drummond, DeMarcus Cousins

Power forward: Anthony Davis, Paul Millsap*

Small forward: Kevin Durant, Chandler Parsons

Shooting guard: James Harden, Klay Thompson

Point guard: Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Derek Rose

(*If Durant is playing PF, then Korver maybe selected over Millsap)
