As August is approaching, the NBA off-season has cooled down and most teams will be making minor moves to improve their roster. Unless the Minnesota Timberwolves decide to pull the trigger and give us the first blockbuster trade of the off-season, then expect a boring month in the NBA.
The Golden State Warriors were once a major player in this off-season, but now it seems they are content with the current roster that is in place, so we can only expect minimal changes. According to Diamond Leung of the San Jose Mercury News, the Warriors have waived one of their big men from last season:

This isn’t much of a surprise, Armstrong averaged 1.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest in 15 games played last season. While Armstrong was not a productive player last year, he did show great persistence by improving his game as the season progressed. Armstrong signed with the Warriors in December and ended up signing two 10 day contracts in February and March, but was eventually signed for the rest of the year on April 8th.
Armstrong spent some time in the D-League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, appearing in 32 games and averaged 12 points and 7.4 rebound per game. The 29-year-old has bounced around the league for the first six season in the NBA, but the 6-foot-11 center still has a lot of basketball left in him, so he can still work on being an everyday NBA player. You can’t teach size, and Armstrong has plenty of it. Best of luck to him and his family moving forward.
