For most of his career, Steve Nash has been a divisional opponent. After 18 seasons, the former two-time MVP retired with the Los Angeles Lakers. Physical abilities to compete at the highest level may go, but the mentality and skills do not. Young players have reached out in attempts to work out and train with Nash.
The Portland Trailblazers are in a rebuilding mode after LaMarcus Aldridge’s departure and their returning players are ready to take on bigger roles. CJ McCollum has been reportedly working with the 41-year-old point guard with aspirations of improving. Jordan Clarkson of the Lakers has been working with Nash too.
Unfortunately for them, that’s about to end. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Nash will join the Golden State Warriors as a player development consultant:

Nash practically averaged a double-double with points and assists in eight straight seasons (in 2008-09, he averaged 9.7 assists). Many compare Steph’s game to Nash’s, both are great shooters with the ability to see the floor and to create for their teammates.
Nash thinks highly of Curry and has complimented the league’s reigning MVP as the greatest shooter ever. While Nash may not be able to give Steph a ton of tips, he can hone the bench and potential back up players. The Warriors’ training camp has players like Juwan Staten, Ian Clark, and Chris Babb who can learn a lot whle competing for a roster spot.
