NBA: Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets

After beating the Rockets 105-93 last night at Oracle, the Warriors extended their streak to 14 games and continue to own the league’s best record. Even with David Lee only playing seven minutes this season, this team is running on all cylinders and they are quickly turning doubters into believers.

Dennis Rodman believes in the Dubs, but he’s not a big believer in Steve Kerr’s abilities to coach this team. Rodman believes the Warriors were already built to win and that Kerr isn’t doing much coaching. According to Jim Park of Sheridan Hoops, Rodman accused Kerr of just “having a good time sitting there”.

Before their game against the Rockets, Kerr addressed Rodman’s statements. According to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle, he agreed with his former teammate.

Obviously, Kerr is having fun with Rodman’s comments, but his influence on this team is noticeable. Not to say that Mark Jackson did a terrible job with these guys, but Kerr has taken them to another level, most notably on the offensive end. It’s good to see Kerr take the high road, when Rodman is obviously is using this as a platform to get any kind of publicity.

The Warriors are 19-2, but it’s the way they are winning that’s encouraging. Kerr has come into Golden State and adjusted to what was already built. However, there is still a long season ahead of us and with Kerr at the helm, the Warriors should find themselves playing deep in the post-season.

Rodman likes Kerr and they don’t have any issues with each other. According to Jim Park of Sheridan Hoops, he just has a problem with rookie head coaches.

  1. Leland Williams Jr,

Kerr better coach than Phil Jackson, w/out the mediation Zen crap.

It’s funny because a lot of Media left out Rodman’s last line in that interview: “I’m just joking with you, Steve.” I think this folks are making something out of nothing in this instance.
