This past season was memorable for the Golden State Warriors. It culminated in the Dubs winning an NBA title and the journey cannot be forgotten. The Warriors were the best team in the NBA since the start of the season and they never looked back.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all improved individually, but more importantly they came together as a team. The Warriors were always fun to watch and their success was reaching people beyond the Bay Area.

Curry came into this season as one of the more notable players in the NBA, but his MVP campaign this year helped catapult him to the top of the food chain. Curry’s popularity began to rise and his jersey started flying off the shelves.

He wasn’t the only Warrior who benefitted from the team’s success. Thompson was becoming a household name and Green was being recognized for his toughness and effort. The Warriors won 67 this past season and as the year went on, more people starting tuning in. The Warriors were must see TV and it gave the players and the team more exposure.

All the success helped the Warriors land at the top of the NBA’s most popular merchandise list. Also, Curry has the best selling jersey in the league, but he’s not the only Warrior on the list. Thompson has the 5th and Green has the 15th best selling jersey in the league. Here’s part of the official press release the Warriors sent out earlier today:

Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry and the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors secured the top spots on the NBA’s Most Popular Jersey and Team Merchandise lists, respectively, based on overall sales from NBAStore.com from April through June, it was announced today. Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson and NBA All-Defensive First Team member Draymond Green also earned spots on the NBA Top-Selling Jerseys List for the first time at No. 5 and No. 15, respectively.

Curry moved up the list to the top spot from No. 2 in overall sales from the 2014-15 season, moving ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, who is currently No. 2. The Warriors emerged as the top-selling team, taking the No. 1 spot from the Chicago Bulls, who are No. 3 on the list.

It’s one thing to be an NBA Champion, but to have the most popular merchandise and three of the top 15 best selling jerseys is quite an accomplishment. While the Spurs have won multiple titles, they’ve never reached that level of popularity. Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard have popular jerseys, but the Warriors are number one in both categories.

This was a dream season for the Warriors. They accomplished the ultimate goal and managed to enhance their brand across the country. It’s easy to root for the Warriors, especially when the face of the franchise is a humble superstar that people can look up to.

This team is built to contend for a few more championships and now the fan base extends past the Bay Area. Support for the Warriors has never been this immense, but they are going to need it if they plan to add a couple more Larry O’Brien trophies to the mantle.
