The Warriors are close to accomplishing the ultimate goal, winning an NBA title. It’s been a long time since this franchise has been this close to adding another Larry O’Brien trophy to their mantle.

A lot of former Warriors are very proud to see their team experiencing this type of success. However, not every former Warrior is celebrating at the moment. According to TMZ Sports, Chris Gatling was arrested for running an illegal credit card scam:
Ex-NBA player Chris Gatling — a former All-Star — was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ yesterday … with cops saying he was the kingpin in a massive illegal credit card and I.D. theft scam.
TMZ Sports has learned … one of Gatling’s alleged victims is a woman he met on a dating website who owned a fitness studio — who he allegedly screwed out of $90,000.
An unfortunate situation for Gatling who played 11 seasons with several NBA teams during his career. Gatling was creating internet businesses to gather credit card information and would use the fitness studio to retrieve the cash from those credit card numbers.
The owner of the fitness studio must have really trusted Gatling for her to front 90 percent of the amount that was being charged on the credit cards. While she kept 10 percent, it all came crashing down when the credit card holders contested and cancelled the transactions.
This is not Gatling’s first run in with the law, so he will probably face a stricter sentence. Gatling was drafted 16th overall by the Warriors in the 1991 NBA Draft. He spent four full seasons with the Warriors before he was traded along with Tim Hardaway to the Miami Heat.
