The Golden State Warriors are going to end up with well over 40 wins by the All-Star break. Steph Curry is heading to the break as an MVP candidate and he is officially the leading vote-getter for this year’s All-Star game in New York City. Life is good in the Curry household.
This will be Curry’s second All-Star Game and this will became a routine for the next decade. Curry’s game has elevated to a new level and he’s only getting better with every passing day. Under Armour officially released the Curry One a few weeks back and now they have unveiled a new All-Star game colorway that he will be rocking in NYC:
As Stephen takes the floor for the 64th annual All-Star Game in New York City on February 15th, he’ll be debuting the “Dark Matter” Curry One, signifying both the internal belief that continues to charge his journey, as well as the energy and explosiveness of his game.
Dark Matter is believed to make up roughly 80% of the universe, but is comprised of materials that scientists cannot directly see or observe. Similarly, much of what drives Stephen cannot be seen by the naked eye, including his determined belief in himself, the unwavering support of his family behind the scenes, and the endless hours he’s committed in the gym when no one is watching to reach the ultimate height of his sport.
Curry will playing with the “Dark Matter” colorway in the Mecca of basketball, where he scored 52 points last season. Under Armour makes great parallels between dark matter and Curry’s game. You can’t see “Dark Matter”, just like you can’t see what fuels Curry to be one of the better players in the NBA.
Curry’s rise to the top hasn’t been easy, he’s been fighting since high school to earn the respect of his peers. At Davidson he rose to national prominence, but the doubters only grew and many believed his game wouldn’t translate to the NBA. He continues to prove the doubters wrong and this season is the ultimate vindication.
The “Dark Matter” colorway features a purple rain camo on the upper with accents of x-ray sprinkled around the sneaker. It will be on sale on Friday, February 13 and you can find them at UA.com, Eastbay and Footlocker.
