NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors

2015 is upon us and the Warriors could not have gotten off to a better start. So far the early portion of the season has brought us some signature performances. Lets look back at the last 2+ months and identify the 5 best individual displays of the Warriors season.

Klay Thompson Arrives

Between trade rumors and extension talks, Klay Thompson was the major talking point of the Warriors all summer. Was it a mistake to pay him big money instead of trading him for Kevin Love? Less than 24 hours after signing a near-max extension, Thompson did his best to show skeptics why he might be worth that contract, in the Oracle home opener.

Thompson finished with team season high 41 points on an electric 14-18 shooting. Thompson specifically came on strong in the 2nd half shooting 10-12, scoring 28 points, and opening up the game. Signature shots over his childhood idol Kobe Bryant demonstrated a changing of the guard (or division’s best shooting guard if you will). Thompson’s performance showed just how deadly a player he can be and why the Warriors were so hesitant to trade and eager to pay him.
