3. Dynamic Duos

Both the Warriors and Rockets are led by two elite players. The Warriors have the Splash Brothers and the Rockers have Superman and the Beard. As mentioned before, Curry and Thompson are the highest scoring duo in the NBA. Harden and Howard are the fourth highest scoring duo, but trail the Splash Brothers by about eight points per game.

Harden and HowardHarden and Howard make a great combination. Harden is used to dominating the ball and creating his own shot. He is a lethal scorer and consistently gets to the charity stripe. Howard compliments him by controlling the paint on both ends of the court. Together they can score the ball, rebound, and draw fouls. Howard still has trouble hitting his free throws, but Harden shoots 90 percent, which is remarkable. They have a great blend of size and speed, but Harden could use a little help on defense. Howard is averaging 19.7 points and 11.5 rebounds, while Harden is third in the league in scoring and averages 7.2 assists and 6.7 boards.

The Warriors arguably have the best back court in the league. Curry is an absolute monster and does everything for the Warriors. He averages 26 points, but what’s more impressive is his seven assists and 6.5 rebounds per game. Thompson has been on a roll since the FIBA World Cup in Spain. Thompson just got awarded a new contract and has shown he is worth every cent. He is second in the league in scoring and will guard the opponents’ best perimeter player.

These two teams will go as far as their dynamic duos will take them. They both have valuable role players that make both of them title contenders. Both have been winning games in similar fashion, but who does it better? We will find out on Saturday, which could also be a potential playoff preview.
