NBA: Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks

3rd Quarter

The Warriors came out freezing cold to start the third quarter. The Warriors went on a 11-5 run and cut the lead below 20. This is exactly what the Mavs needed and now they had most of the third quarter to try and chop away at the lead. Green and Thompson hit 3’s to stop the bleeding, but Ellis was on fire. An amazing turn of events, the Mavs now looked like the Warriors in the first half. The Mavs cut the lead to 13, but the most interesting part of the game was when Speights lost his shoe and Tyson Chandler swatted away when he attempted to put it back on. The Warriors finish the quarter much better and led 87-68 with only 12 minutes remaining.

4th Quarter

The Warriors had a big lead, but the Mavs are good enough to score a lot of points and you don’t want to give them any momentum. Dirk and Ellis scored some buckets and cut the lead to 15 and the home crowd was starting to get back into it. The Mavs threatened a few times, but the Dubs played well enough to protect their lead. Green had a great block against Dirk that got the entire bench out of their chairs. With less than two minutes remaining, the Mavs cut the lead to 10 and the Warriors were in slight danger. However, the Warriors were able to hold on and beat the Mavs 105-98.
