The Golden State Warriors continue on their road to the Larry O’Brien trophy. After sweeping the New Orleans Pelicans, the Warriors are tasked with a taller order. The Memphis Grizzlies come to the Oracle for the commencement round two. Stephen Curry and the Dubs will be well rested as they rested for 8 days.

1st Quarter

The Grizzlies got on the board first, but Draymond Green got off to a hot start. He hit two triples to give the Warriors the lead, 10-5. The Grizzlies responded with some quick buckets and the lead was down to one. An alley-oop from Steph Curry to Andrew Bogut got the crowd on their feet, but Green hit another triple and Oracle was in a frenzy. It was a six point lead for the Dubs and the scoring continued. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol were scoring, but they couldn’t keep up with the Dubs. The Warriors went on a 6-0 run to raise the lead to nine. Leandro Barbosa and Andre Iguodala came into the game and both were effective. The second unit was able to close the first quarter and the Warriors led 32-25.

2nd Quarter

The Warriors started the quarter with two buckets from Harrison Barnes, but Z-Bo had two buckets of his own. Iguodala finally got a triple to go in and the Warrior lead was 10. The scoring stalled a bit, but the Warriors had the comfortable lead. With about eight minutes left, Barnes hit another triple and Marreese Speights joined the party with back-to-back buckets to raise the lead to 16. The Grizzlies responded with a 6-0 run and the lead was down to 10, but the Warriors came right back. Buckets from Livingston and Thompson got the crowd back into it. The Grizzlies then went on a run of their own. Randolph and Gasol turned up the intensity and scored 12 points. It got the lead down to six and the game had changed. However, Curry responded with back to back triples and once again the lead was double digits. A Tony Allen free throw cut the lead to nine to end the half.

3rd Quarter

The Warriors picked up where they left off and scored quickly. Barnes and Curry hit a bucket each and Draymond contributed with a triple. The lead was up to 14 and it stayed that way for the first four minutes of the quarter. The pace slowed down and the teams were trading baskets. Luckily for the Warriors, they had a comfortable lead so this pace was working for them as well. The Splash Brothers then blew this game open with a three pointer each. It was now a 20 point lead and the Grizzlies looked defeated. Randolph came back and hit some baskets to get it down to 16, but the Warriors were in complete control. Golden State’s defense was impressive, they put the clamps down and would not allow any easy baskets. The Warriors took a 83-66 lead into the final period.

4th Quarter

Beno Udrih got the quarter started with a bucket and the Barbosa was quick to respond. Both teams were just trading baskets and the Warriors kept applying the pressure. Jeff Green and Gasol kept the Grizzlies just close enough to leave the starters in the game. Speights picked a great time to look like he did at the beginning of the regular season and hit multiple buckets in the fourth. The Warriors then went cold, but Memphis only were able to cut the lead to 13 and time was running out. Curry hit another triple to put the lead at 17 and this game was over. The Grizzlies tried, but simply could not keep up with the high scoring machine.
