Lee missed a couple of easy shots, but still managed to produce enough points to give Curry some semblance of scoring relief while the rest of the team seems a bit timid.

Andre was mostly invisible in this one. He forced DeRozan to take jumpers but did not contest them hard enough to result in misses. Offensively, Iguodala seemingly floated through the contest. He mostly drifted to the perimeter and stood there without giving the Dubs much.

Jonas Valanciunas started out the game punishing Bogut on the interior, but the Aussie eventually rebounded and kept the Toronto center out of the paint. Bogut forced a few misses at the rim and played a part in Dwane Casey keeping JV on the bench in the fourth.

Stephen Curry, PG 43 MIN | 13-27 FG | 4-6 FT | 4 REB | 7 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 6 TO | 34 PTS | -1

Curry was on his game tonight offensively. He kept attacking the Raptors in transition and through drives, which made it difficult for Toronto to key in on him. Curry created some great shots and actually missed what amounts to a few easy looks for him.

Klay Thompson, SG 27 MIN | 4-15 FG | 2-2 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 12 PTS | -1

Thompson’s defense was solid in this one with the exception of the hacking. He had 5 fouls by the third quarter, but still helped force Kyle Lowry into a tough shooting game. On the other side of the ball, Thompson simply looked lost.

Two Things We Saw

  1. The Warriors simply did not have it defensively in this one as a unit, and Stephen Curry was chief among them. Curry lost track of his player and rotated late on a few occasions, which allowed the Raptors to get easy scores.
  2. On a day where DeMar DeRozan simply could not miss jumpers, perhaps the Warriors should have sent some traps his way and thrown a bit more different defenders at him. Draymond Green deserved a few cracks at him.

    Green’s season continues to be impressive with his contribution to overall team play. I would love to see his per 36min stats vs Barnes and Igoudala (unfortunately), I doubt either would be close.

    Throw Klay’s 4 month slump (a good shooter who cannot score); there are now long term trends highly visible within the system and player roles. Not sure to make of the Dubs, certainly a country mile from ‘contender’ status. Been a horribly inconsistent season
