Draymond Green can’t seem to get out of his own way these days. Whether it’s real world fights or digital world gaffes, a pattern is starting to develop of putting himself in bad situations.
Due to a Snapchat error, Green inadvertently posted a picture of his penis for all to see. Green said that it was meant to be a private message.
“I kinda hit the wrong button, and it sucks. It was meant to be private,” Green said. “We’re all one click away from placing something in the wrong place and I suffered from that this morning.”
What Green does with his partner is nobody else’s business but their own, but this is really an unfortunate situation.

The picture was only up for about 10 minutes before Green realized he had made a mistake and took it down.
The cover-up is usually worse than the actual offense, and Green dug himself a deeper hole by creating a lie, only to back out of it with these recent statements.
Originally he claimed to be hacked, and sent out some tweets attributing it to that. I guess after digesting the embarrassing situation, he decided it was better to simply come clean.
Had this happened to any other player, it probably wouldn’t be getting blown up as much as it is. Unfortunately, Green has attached himself to enough controversy in recent months that he’s probably going to get less slack from the basketball community than any other player would.
It was a stupid mistake, but ultimately a victimless crime. The worst outcome of this, despite the personal humiliation that Green may feel, is that Team USA has now gotten negative attention due to this error.
Representing your country is a privilege, and it’s too bad that Green did something to make Team USA look bad.

Having said that, it’s really a stupid, harmless mistake that isn’t leaving any lingering repercussions. The picture was only up for 10 minutes, and got taken off promptly.
Hopefully everybody can just move on from this. Had it been a player other than Green, critics would probably be a lot more forgiving.
We all have to live with the consequences of our actions, though, and Green’s antics have caused him to have little sympathy around the league.
He’s a dedicated enough competitor to compartmentalize this added piece of adversity and not only have a great season for the Warriors, but also help Team USA have a successful olympics.
Winning tends to alleviate any drama, and Green is due to be a huge part of two dominant squads in the near future.
