NBA: Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies

5. He’s Improved in his Weak Areas

It was clear that if Curry ever wanted to be taken as a serious superstar in the league, he would have to improve his shaky defense and careless turnovers.

Curry is holding opposing point guards to just 40.5% shooting from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc.

Thompson isn’t always defending the point guard this season. It was a tactic used by the former coach of the squad and Steve Kerr trusts Curry to defend his man.

Ron Adams has helped Curry take defensive strides and Curry challenges himself to do well on both ends.

His turnover numbers are also down. He’s only averaging 3.1 per game this season compared to an atrocious 3.8 a night last season. This is more impressive than it looks considering the Warriors pass the ball much more than they did last season. Their offense revolves around moving the ball and Curry excels in it.
