Klay Thompson Dribbling NBA

With every passing day the Warriors front office looks smarter for sticking with Klay Thompson and not trading him for Kevin Love in the off-season. Thompson has been on an absolute tear in the first three games of the season, but it started with Team USA in their chase for gold in Spain and it carried over to the NBA season.

Thompson and the Warriors agreed to a contract extensions a few days ago, which will keep him in the Bay for at least four more years. Thompson’s play is beginning to turn some heads and his effort in the first three games have not gone unnoticed. According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, Thompson was named Western Conference Player of the Week:

Not bad for the first week of the season. In three games, Thompson is averaging 29.7 points and 3 assists, but has also been effective in ways that won’t show up on a stat sheet. He has been excellent defending the perimeter and has been clutch down the stretch.

The Warriors were down one point with about 14 seconds left in the game. Thompson drove the lane and hit a difficult shot in the paint to give the Warriors the lead. Dubs fans should be excited about Thompson, he is only going to get better, which should scare the other 29 teams in the NBA.
