Team USA looked absolutely invincible heading into these Olympics. During their run of exhibition matchups, they didn’t just beat their opponents; they destroyed them.

It was a case of confirmation bias, though, because this Team USA squad already looked vastly superior on paper compared to other teams at the Olympics.

Even with numerous players turning down an opportunity to play on Team USA, they were still able to field a roster overflowing with talent.

However, some close calls with Team Australia and Team Serbia have left this team seemingly vulnerable to an upset.

They have one game left before the elimination round begins, and they have to regain their focus before a loss can officially derail gold medal aspirations.

Their practice today was cancelled to instead have vigorous film sessions on the cruise ship the team is housed on.

Despite the close calls, Las Vegas still considers Team USA the overwhelming favorites to win the gold medal.

It’s understandable, because this team still has by far the most talented lineup in the tournament.

As dramatic as some of their games have been at the end, they still remain undefeated in this tournament.

The most talented team by far still hasn’t lost a game. It would be an overreaction to no longer consider this team the favorite to win the gold medal.
