Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry represented the Golden State Warriors in the NBA’s Three Point Contest on Saturday night. The competition was sandwiched by the Splash Brothers. The competition allowed for the players to position a rack with only money balls (striped basketballs worth double) at the choice.

Round One

Thompson kicked off the competition scored the highest with 22 points (money ball rack placed at the end). Steph started slow, caught fire, and slowed again. With his clutch gene, Curry faced pressure from was able to convert the last two shots to push his score from 17 to 21 and to solidify his place in the finals (money ball rack also placed at the end).

Only the top three scores would make it into the final round. In the first round, Khris Middleton, CJ McCollum, Kyle Lowry, and were immediately eliminated after failing to qualify.

James Harden, Devin Booker, and JJ Redick (all scored 20) had to shoot in a Tiebreaker round (30 seconds) to join the Splash Brothers in the finals. Booker would outscore Harden and Redick with 12.

Round Two

The order was adjusted by scoring. Booker would go first, followed by Steph, and closed by Klay. The rookie from the Suns put up 16 points.

Steph shot perfectly from the first rack (actually made the first 7 shots for 8 points). With a consistent finish, Steph finished with 23 to put the pressure on Klay. As a refresher, last year, Steph had 27 points in the first round to defeat Klay.

Klay began with 4 points in the first rack, 17 points through 4 racks and needed 6 to win (money ball rack placed at the final corner). This year, it was Klay’s time to shine. He cleaned up the money ball rack and finished with 27 to easily slide by Steph.

BONUS

Draymond Green Kevin Hart

Before the real Three-Point Contest, and after a ton of smack talk, Draymond Green and Kevin Hart also squared off. The result? A tie.
