Warriors News: Thompson Family Honored in Bahamas

Mychal Thompson and Klay Thompson now share a special bond; they are the fourth father-son duo to win the NBA Championship. Mychal was born in the Bahamas and frequently heads home to assist in the basketball program. Mychal Jr. and Klay have lent a helping hand and gave back.

The event celebrated the 42nd anniversary of the country’s independence and chose to honor the Thompson family. With Mychal Sr. and Klay claiming their own NBA Championships and Mychal Jr.’s new overseas contract, the timing was perfect to honor Thompsons whom give hope to the future athletes:

Last season, Klay shined brighter than ever. After working out with Team USA, Klay showed the jump and earned his large contract. Before this season, there may have been children who didn’t know Klay, that looks impossible now. They looked incredibly happy and starstruck to be around him as the 10th Year Seniors captured that sentimental moment:

The Currys aren’t the only family with a tight bond. Klay and his parents keep a tight relationship. A few years ago, reports came out that Klay’s allowance would be docked following his first NBA skirmish with Roy Hibbert. Mychal Sr. keeps the Bahamas dear to his heart and shares that with his children.
