NBA: Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder

The Warriors lost. We haven’t said that a lot this season, but we all knew it was bound to happen. After 37 games, the Warriors are 31-6 and now they prepare to face the Rockets in Houston tonight. While they are still the best team in the NBA, it’s possible for them to go 0-2 on this road trip.

It’s a long season and the Warriors won’t play perfect basketball in every single game. Steph Curry didn’t play like himself yesterday and according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle, Steve Kerr isn’t concerned about his point guard’s performance against the Thunder:

Curry still scored 19 points and notched six assists, which is remarkable for most NBA’s players, but not for Curry. Curry is a machine and even when he plays well, it’s still not up to his standard. Kerr acknowledged that this wasn’t his best performance, but he understands that in a span for an 82 games, every player is allowed to have an off-night.

The Thunder were eagerly waiting for the Warriors after three previous defeats. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant fed off their home crowd and the Warriors could not mount a comeback. Losing is not fun, but nobody is perfect. The only way the Warriors and Thunder will see each other again will be if they face-off in the post-season.
