Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis

The Golden State Warriors play their hated rivals Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center tonight. The NBA saved the best for last, the Dubs and Clippers will play the final game this Christmas. Steph Curry will be going up against Chris Paul, but the game hasn’t even started and Curry is already beating Paul.

The NBA All-Star game is more than a month away, but the first voting results have been unveiled. According to Lang Whitaker of the Hangtime Blog, Curry comes in second overall, only trailing LeBron James:

The first results for the 2015 All-Star Game starting lineup voting were announced, and Cleveland’s LeBron James is the overall leading vote getter, with 552,967 overall votes. But right on James’ heels is Golden State’s Stephen Curry, voting leader in the Western Conference and second overall with 549,095 votes.

While the results are not final, this is an impressive feat by Steph Curry. Over the last few years Curry has grown in popularity, but to only trail LeBron by 3,872 is exceptional. LeBron is the face of the NBA and Curry is right on his tail.

Curry’s game has helped him become one the most recognized players in the NBA, he’s arguably the player that’s most fun to watch. This season is his coming out party, he’s on track to be an MVP contender, but most importantly the Warriors are one of the top teams in the league.

Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today tweeted out the initial results and Klay Thompson comes in at 90,957:

There is still plenty of time to vote, so make sure you vote for the Splash Brothers every day.
