The Golden State Warriors and the Oakland community have done a terrific job of raising money for the Oakland Fire Relief Fund since the horrific event happened on December 2nd.

While the organization and the players made donations, Steph Curry and Under Armour teamed up to raise more money for the victims’ families. Curry and UA auctioned off two game worn Curry 3’s, which were designed in honor of the 36 lives that were lost in the Ghost Ship warehouse.

The unique sneakers were not only autographed by the back to back MVP, but the art work included the words “Oakland, Strong, Ghost Ship” and the victims’ initials.

The charity auction has officially ended and both pairs combined have collected a total of $43,157. The “Oakland Strong” pair were by far the most coveted, they went to the winner for $30,101, while the “Ghost Ship” went for a final bid of $13,356.

Here’s the official press release from the Golden State Warriors:

OAKLAND, CA – The charity auctions for two pairs of Stephen Curry’s specially designed Under Armour Curry 3 shoes ended today, raising a total of $43,157 for the Oakland Fire Relief fund, it was announced today.  The custom, one-of-a-kind shoes paid respect to the victims of the Ghost Ship warehouse fire that claimed a total of 36 lives earlier this month in Oakland.

The in-game “Oakland Strong” shoes that feature the words “OAKLAND” down the side of the left shoe and “STRONG” down the side of the right shoe in Golden State’s yellow and blue colors were auctioned off to an anonymous bidder for the winning price of $30,101.

The pregame “Ghost Ship” shoes that feature the words “GHOST SHIP” in vibrant graffiti-style script down the side of each shoe were auctioned off to an anonymous bidder for the winning price of $13,356.

Curry wore both shoes on-court on December 15, 2016, when the Warriors hosted the New York Knicks at Oracle Arena.  The two-time MVP also autographed both pairs of shoes prior to the auction.

All of the proceeds from this charity auction will go to the Oakland Fire Relief fund that has been established on YouCaring.com to assist victims and families of the devastating fire. In addition to proceeds raised from this auction, Under Armour is also committing $25,000 donation to the fund. Previously, the Golden State Warriors organization pledged a $50,000 donation to the fund, and the team’s players and coaches pledged an additional $75,000.
