The Golden State Warriors have been playing good basketball as of late, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a span of four days. They didn’t just beat two of the better teams in the NBA, they demolished them. The Warriors beat the Cavs on Monday by 35 points and then handled the Thunder on Thursday by 21.

The Warriors have the best record in the NBA and it feels like they are beginning to hit their stride. Even though they still have room to improve, there is no doubt they’ve been the best team in the league.

You can argue that they have four of the best 10-15 players in the league and two of them will be recognized today. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant have been selected to be starters for the NBA All-Star Game in February:

Durant and Curry will represent the Warriors at the All-Star game in New Orleans as starters. It’s likely that Draymond Green and Klay Thompson will join them as reserves, but that will be decided by the coaches.

According to Haynes, James Harden will be joining Curry in the backcourt, which means Russell Westbrook has been left off the starting lineup. He’s been averaging a triple double this season and will come off the bench at the All-Star game. This will make for an interesting conversation for about the next month or so.

This was the first year of a new voting system. The fans had 50 percent of the vote, with Curry and Durant leading the vote. However, the players had 25 percent of the vote and they had Westbrook and Harden in the back court. The media has the final 25 percent and they also had Westbrook and Harden as the two starters.

Westbrook will obviously named a reserve. It’s going to be interesting to see how he interacts with Durant and Curry during the All-Star weekend festivities and game. It’s going to be a fun weekend.
