An NBA roster maxes out at 15 roster spots. With training camp, NBA teams often invite up to 20 players to compete (starters are often played minimal minutes and rested). Many players are hopeful to catch one of those spots but unfortunately, their chance won’t come with the Golden State Warriors.

It’s not groundbreaking or surprising, the Warriors already had 14 guaranteed and partial guaranteed contracts. The chances of making it with them were slim to begin. According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Warriors have officially trimmed the roster:

As expected, Xavier Henry, a proven player will be stashed in the Warriors franchise. They’ll have him play for the Santa Cruz Warriors, the D-League affiliate. Coming off an Achilles injury, Henry looks to show his recovered self; Henry was signed on the October 19th.
