The Warriors are one win away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 1975. It’s been a long time coming and all they need is to put the Rockets away at Oracle Arena.

It’s wise not to count your chickens before they hatch, but the Warriors are 45-3 at home this season and they are simply the better team in this series. You expect the Warriors to advance and meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals after tonight’s Game 5.

According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 4th at 6PM:

If the Warriors are able to beat the Rockets tonight, the Warriors will have plenty of time to rest and game plan for the Cavs. The long wait in between the conference finals and the Finals will only increase the anticipation, but for the Warriors, this could not come at a better time.

Steph Curry is likely still feeling the effects of that nasty fall he took in Game 4, so the few extra days will help him fully recover. Ron Adams, the Warriors assistant coach and defensive mastermind will also take advantage of the long layoff in order to prepare for LeBron James.

Let’s hope the Warriors can close it out tonight so we can start talking about Curry vs. LeBron.
