The Golden State Warriors escaped with a 99-98 victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. In a game that saw the Warriors go up by 17 points in the second quarter, this game came down to the final seconds.

Turnovers continue to be a problem for the Warriors, which is why they squandered such a big lead in the second quarter. Houston’s comeback not only gave them life, but momentum. Many expected the Warriors to wipe the floor with the Rockets, but after two games we know the Rockets will not give up even when their backs are against the wall.

While the Warriors won Game 2, this series could have been easily tied at 1-1 if James Harden would have at least attempted a shot as the clock was winding down. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson swarmed Harden and he panicked. The time expired and the Warriors got the one point victory.

This could have a very different series if Harden makes a tough contested jumper and after the game he was visibly upset. Check out this Vine from Valerie Vine Star:

As you can see, Harden was not very happy with himself after not even attempting a shot to win the game. Harden took out his frustration on a pole and some curtains as he was walking back to the visitor’s locker room.

Harden was the MVP runner-up and he was capable of making that shot to win the game. He has shown in the first two games that he can take over and will his team to victory. The Warriors should expect a hungry Harden to come out aggressive in Game 3, he left Oracle with a bad taste in his mouth and will be looking for revenge.
