You’ll excuse Draymond Green if he doesn’t mince words and talk in false platitudes that make him sound boring. The power forward isn’t here to just jabber away mindlessly. He’s here to make a point and his point is that the Golden State Warriors are “bored” right now.

It’s hard to even disagree with Green when you really start to break it down. There are only four games remaining in an excruciatingly long season, and the Warriors are beyond tired, bored, and over the regular season at this point. Their success is purely determined by what happens in the playoffs, and this regular season chase has grown tiresome.

From Monte Poole, columnist for CSN Bay Area:

“Right now, we’re just at a point where, it’s human nature, where it’s like, we’re kind of ready for the regular season to end,” Draymond Green summarized. “You’re talking 82 games. You get bored with that after a while. That’s no excuse. I’m going to always give it to y’all real, and that’s about as real as I can be. It’s at a point now where we’re ready for the regular season to be over.”

You can understand where Green is coming from. The Warriors have heard the chatter all season long about whether or not they can break the 72-win mark set by the Bulls back in 1995-96. With four games to go, they have to win out to do so. However, as Green puts it, the team is just sort of over the regular season at this point.

With the playoffs around the corner, the Warriors need to start to gain just a measure of focus in order to get ready for the tests that will await them. Their first round series won’t matter all too much, but their second round matchup — likely against the Clippers — and Western Conference Finals matchup will be taxing. Time to get serious.
