The 2016-17 NBA season is on the horizon and it cannot come soon enough. Since Kevin Durant signed with Golden State on the 4th of July, Warrior fans have been counting down the days until the start of the regular season.

The rest of the NBA was not as thrilled. Most were critical of Durant’s decision to leave Oklahoma City and the number of people who supported Durant’s decision were few and far between. The Warriors were a 73-win team last season and they added a top 3 player to the roster, so it makes more than enough sense for people to be jealous and upset.

However, it’s been about 3-4 months since Durant made his way to the Bay Area, but people can’t stop talking about it. Paul Pierce was the latest to chime in and the former Celtic criticized the former NBA MVP, but one of KD’s teammate was quick to respond back.

According to Anthony Slater of Bay Area News Group, Draymond Green was not a fan of Pierce’s comments and had a lot to say in return:

It’s no secret that Green is the heart and soul of this team, so it makes perfect sense that he would be the one to stand up for his new teammate. Green was arguably the Warriors best recruiter this off-season, but all the chatter surrounding Durant and the Warriors is getting old and he’s had enough.

Green brings up some good points and reminds everybody that this is a business, Durant simply made the best business decision for himself and his family. You cannot be mad a person for that.

Pierce’s words were a bit hypocritical. The only reason he has a championship ring is because the Celtics formed their own super team when they acquired Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Maybe, he forgot how irrelevant the Celtics were before Garnett and Allen got there.

Regardless, people will keep talking and the Warriors just need to ignore the noise and take out their frustrations on their opponents on the court. They will feel much better as they gel and rack up the victories.
