NBA: Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers

The Warriors have been the talk of the NBA to start the season. They own the best record in the NBA and they’ve won 14 games in a row. Well, that streak is now in serious jeopardy.

The Warriors have a tough three game road trip coming up, which starts in Dallas on Saturday morning. The Warriors were hoping to have their center back after missing the last game with knee tendinitis. According to Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area, Bogut will miss the next two games after having his knee drained:

This is surprising news. At first it was believed that Bogut would not miss much time and would be back to face some of the best teams in the Western Conference. Now, the Warriors will have to find a way to win without their anchor on defense. The Warriors will go to New Orleans to face the Pelicans and finish off their road trip in Memphis.

The game against the Grizzlies is where they would really miss Bogut. Memphis has one of the best front courts in the league with Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. They need him to help contain the paint, but Bogut has also been great on the offensive end. He is such a great passer from the post, he really opens up that offense for Steve Kerr. The Warrior do have some depth, but it’s hard to replace the big man from Australia. This will be a great learning experience for Festus Ezeli.
