The Golden State Warriors were without Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala, and Festus Ezeli the other night when they ended up losing to the San Antonio Spurs. Bogut is the latest Warrior to face injury. It appears that Bogut will be out for tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well.

The fact that the MRI results are not available yet does not really mean much, but it should be noted that head coach Steve Kerr doesn’t believe that Bogut will be out for, as Leung puts it, “very long.” There’s no telling how long Bogut will actually out of action for, but it doesn’t sound too serious.
Foot issues for big men are pretty worrisome because they can generally take quite a long time to heal, however that doesn’t appear to be the case as far as Bogut and the Warriors are concerned. For now, this is good news in a roundabout way. While he is out for this game, there’s still hope he’ll be back in due time for both the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.
To be successful in the playoffs, the Warriors will need Bogut’s impact at center, both in his ability to pass out of the high-post and be a great defensive anchor. Without him, as shown against the Spurs, the Warriors can struggle on the interior. He’s a pivotal piece en route to repeating as champions.
