The Golden State Warriors are four wins away from winning an NBA title. LeBron James and the Cavaliers are standing in their way, but if they play the brand of basketball that won them 67 games this season, they will be having a parade in Oakland in middle/late June.

This season has been magical for the Dubs and it all started by making the right moves in the off-season. They brought in assistants Alvin Gentry and Ron Adams and they have been the difference makers this year. Unfortunately, it looks like it won’t last for much longer.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the New Orleans Pelicans will name Gentry as their next head coach:

It was no secret, everyone knew Gentry would be a popular candidate after helping the Warriors revolutionize their offense and now he gets to develop and groom Anthony Davis, who is already one of the best players at age 22. Gentry is known as an offensive minded coach and with Davis under his watch, the Brow will be much more dangerous offensively.

Gentry will be dearly missed, but if the Warriors are able to finish the season on top, then he can leave to New Orleans a champion knowing he helped get the job done.
