Minnesota Timberwolves v Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have found themselves in unfamiliar territory. After losing two straight games at Staples Center, they will be looking to get back to winning. The Warriors have played in an incredibly sloppy fashion and has hit a bump on the road to a championship.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are still looking to find an identity. Losing their backcourt and leading big man hasn’t helped their cause. With injuries to Kevin Martin and Ricky Rubio, Shabazz Muhammad has stepped up but he hasn’t done enough to stop the Wolves’ downward spiral. The Wolves have lost seven consecutive games. The results of those injuries has Minnesota holding the worst record in the Western Conference at 5-23.

Players To Watch

Shabazz Muhammad

Shabazz is looking to shed the dreaded bust title. His rookie year was a forgettable one. This season, Muhammad has dropped the pounds and looks to regain his dominance on the court as he did in high school. In December, Muhammad has averaged nearly 18 points to go along with nearly 5 rebounds in 28 minutes a contest.

Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins is as hot as a rookie can be. In his past two games, he’s averaged 24.5 points on 17 shot attempts. He’s been playing heavy minutes since the Wolves traded away Corey Brewer. Minnesota only has one win in 13 contests this month.  Wiggins’ play has gotten better as the season has progressed.

Keys To Victory

Spacing
The Warriors play better when they’re loose on the floor. Many times, they’ll become stagnant and lack spacing to become a threat. The Warriors are best when they’re attacking at full force rather than forcing shot after shot.

Regain the Swagger

The confidence of the squad has shaken up. The Warriors are too good to fall to the lower tier teams. The Wolves are a lot like the Lakers and the Warriors will need to come out and make a statement. It’ll be important to keep the Wolves from running and to hold them in a half court set. With that, the Warriors will regain that alpha dog swagger.
