After a dominant Game 3 effort, the Cleveland Cavaliers have cut into the Golden State Warriors’ series lead, but still trail two games to one. Cleveland will have an opportunity to tie the series at two games a piece in Game 4, which will be played on Friday, June 10, at Quicken Loans Arena.
In Game 3, LeBron James physically imposed his will and dominated on both ends throughout the contest, as he finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Golden State was unable to develop a rhythm throughout the game, but have proven time and time again that it can bounce back after a tough loss. Entering Game 4, Warrior fans are banking that James and Co. will not perform as well as they did in Game 3, when Cleveland shot over 40 percent from 3-point territory.
Of note, James played a game-high 40 minutes. Given the short turnaround, fans will wonder James and Co. will have enough energy to muster another big effort on Friday in Game 4. In last year’s NBA Finals, Cleveland carried a 2-1 series advantage into Game 4, but the Warriors rallied and won four straight games. Game 4 will once again be a pivotal game in this series. If Cleveland is able to win Game 4, it’ll set the NBA up for a fitting, exciting finish to the season. If Golden State is able to win Game 4, fans will flock to Oracle in hopes of seeing their team clinch an NBA Championship. Fans that want to attend Game 4 should start looking for tickets today. One more Game 4 storyline to watch will be the availability of Kevin Love. Love, who missed Game 3 due to a concussion, is considered questionable for Game 4. Journeyman Richard Jefferson started in Love’s absence and scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. Jefferson gives Cleveland another wing defender that can match-up against Golden State’s smaller line-up. If Love is healthy and able to play, fans will wonder whether Cleveland opts to keep Jefferson in the lineup or to re-insert Love.
