The Golden State Warriors leave Las Vegas with a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, but head coach Steve Kerr is still very proud of the gains the team and coaching staff have made these past eight days. In a perfect world, the Warriors would have gotten one final victory in Las Vegas, but they still leave the desert with their heads held high.
Coach Kerr admitted after the game that he chose to play some of the guys on the team who hadn’t seen the floor that much during the first four games. While he still got Nemanja Nedovic and Justin Holiday some time, he didn’t leave them in for long and allowed players like Rob Loe, Davon Usher, and Kiwi Gardner to stay on the floor for an extended amount of time. Gardner, a fan favorite made the most of the opportunity and the crowd was behind him. He scored a total of eight points and even received some MVP chants while he was at the free throw line.

To Kerr’s credit, the Warriors got themselves in a hole early, but were able to dig themselves out. They showed poise and tenacity, but needed a couple more things to go their way for the victory. Kerr seemed to really connect with his players even though they’ve been together for a short period of time. Not only was it beneficial for the Summer League team to learn from Kerr, but he also learned a lot by being on the sidelines and leading a group of young men that were hungry to perform here at the Summer League.
