The Warriors had their first day of training camp today, and all eyes around the league are on this highly anticipated team.

It might take a brief moment for Kevin Durant to get a feel for being out on the court with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, but once they start clicking, the sky’s the limit for this team, particularly on offense.

Durant already won a gold medal with Thompson and Green this Summer in Rio, so it might even take shorter than expected to build that on-court chemistry.

Steve Kerr was pleased with how the team has bonded despite a huge roster turnover compared to last season.

“It went well, better than I thought,” said Kerr, regarding the first day of training camp. “We had a team dinner last night and I looked around and we had, I want to say, 12 or 13 new faces including the training camp invitees. Practice was really smooth, considering all the new faces.”

The Warriors are trying to recover from a historic season that ended on a profoundly negative note.

They won 73 games in the regular season, and made the NBA Finals despite being down 3-1 to the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.

However, they eventually lost in the NBA Finals to the Cavaliers after being up 3-1 in the series themselves.

“That’s life, that’s all part of it,” said Kerr, who sounds like he and the team are determined to move on and focus on winning the championship this season.

Training camp is always intriguing because it’s an outlet for unproven players to assert themselves. Maybe an unexpected player shines and ends up securing a roster spot on what’s poised to be a fantastic team.
