I’m sure all the talk of 73 wins has actually started to get a little tiresome, so you can imagine how some of the players on the Golden State Warriors feel whenever they are asked questions about the potential record that they could be setting with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at Oracle Arena?

When asked about the possibility of the Warriors winning 73 games, point guard Stephen Curry gave an answer that sounded almost political in nature. He wants history, just like everyone else.

From Mark Strotman, columnist for CSN Chicago:

“So many great players have suited up since the NBA began, and for us 15 guys to say we’ve accomplished something as a group that’s never been done before, that’s remarkable. So, we earned the right to have a 48-minute game to eclipse that mark and we have to go out and finish the job and do it the right way.”

Doing things the right way, the Warriors way, will ensure a 73rd victory on the season, and break the single-season wins mark set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. It seems like a mere formality at this point since the Grizzlies are banged up and on the second night of a back-to-back in California.

Still, you never want to take any opponent for granted, and the Warriors have stumbled a couple times this season against perceived inferior competition. With the Dubs locked in, it looks like the squad is ready to be the new standard.
