When he was drafted out of Davidson, Stephen Curry could have never envisioned that his career would have turned out the way that it has thus far. The Golden State Warriors point guard went through a lot of trials and tribulations before finally morphing into arguably the best player in the game.

That journey, those tests he endured, all paved the way for what you see before you now. As the Warriors stand on the precipice of a 73-win season, the vision that Curry laid out all those years ago has finally started to take shape. And it started with a single tweet that he sent in November 2009.

From Marcus Thompson II, Bay Area News Group Columnist:

“Promise to all the Warrior fans … we will figure this thing out … if it’s the last thing we do we will figure it out.”

Talk about figuring it out. Curry has pioneered a joke into a juggernaut. He is the only player remaining from that era of Warriors basketball. Even more, the conviction he showed that night — a rookie who’d just lost his spot making promises to fix a team he didn’t even want to draft him — is the very defiance that has orchestrated this legendary turnaround.

Curry has evolved the Warriors into a metaphorical demon that devours the souls of those who are put before it. That promise that Curry made back in 2009 has come full circle. They did figure it out, and they ended up winning a championship because of it and sit one win away from even more history.

It stands to reason that Stephen Curry is the driving force behind the Golden State Warriors. Some might argue that Draymond Green is the heart of the team, but Curry is the one that truly sets the tone. He set the tone years ago, and now he’s carried it with him through all this time.
