With Game 5 approaching, the Warriors will engage in their 102nd game of the 2014-15 NBA season. This is when the fatigue would kick in and injuries begin to pile up. It’s also the worst time for something of that caliber to happen.

Although, the reigning MVP has had trouble getting free from the pesky defense of the Matthew Dellavedova, he looks and sounds energized to win a championship. A huge reason may be Coach Steve Kerr’s minute management for the superstar:

The 82 game season already takes a toll on the players but the Warriors have been in a good position all year.  By blowing out so many opponents, the Warriors were able to keep their starters’ minutes down. With the extra 19 games already, the Warriors were also fortunate to keep that number down (Sweep, 4-2 over the Grizzlies, and 4-1 over the Rockets).

The Warriors have great depth and that surely helps. Looking at their opponents, the Cavs have a short 8 man rotation which includes Coach David Blatt running LeBron James nearly the entire game. This is where all the work throughout the year pays off. All those fourth quarters that Curry was able to rest were crucial for him to feel good at this time of the year.

The Warriors are two wins away from bringing home the Larry O’Brien trophy to the Bay Area, something that hasn’t been done in 40 years.
