The 2014 ESPYS - Show

Sports are such a wonderful thing, especially the game of basketball. Today, the sports world lost a great human being in Stuart Scott after dealing with cancer for numerous years.

If you’ve missed a Warrior game in the last 20 years and wanted to watch the highlights, it’s likely you tuned in to Sports Center to catch up on your Dubs and there was a good chance Scott was the anchor who delivered those highlights to your television. Scott joined ESPN in 1993 and he changed the sport broadcasting landscape forever.

Scott invented various catch phrases that will be used forever and brought his own style to the Sports Center set that hadn’t been seen before. He became a fixture at NBA events and interviewed two presidents, Michael Jordan and many more prominent people in the sport. As an NBA player, seeing Stuart Scott in June usually meant he was handing you the Larry O’Brien trophy.

The entire sports world was saddened by his loss, including some of the Warriors players and coaches. They took to twitter to express their condolences:

Leandro Barbosa

Harrison Barnes

Alvin Gentry

Rick Welts

Shaun Livingston

Festus Ezeli

Klay Thompson

Steph Curry

RIP Stuart Scott.
