We are all nostalgic from time to time. It’s always nice to remember the “Good Ol’ Days” and today we were treated to just that.

With all due respect to ABC/ESPN, the NBA on NBC was my favorite part of my weekends. There was something about Bob Costas talking about the matchup that would give you goosebumps and then the music intro would start and you knew it was game time.

Unfortunately, when the NBA made the switch to ABC in 2002, that famous intro was lost forever and all we have left is youtube clips to satisfy our nostalgia.

Today, Ryan Eytcheson gave us all a treat. He used some old audio and footage of the NBA on NBC intro and incorporated highlights of Steph Curry and LeBron James. He used Marv Albert as the person narrating the preview and (Costas was better) the clip still gave you chills.

The audio was from the 2001 NBA Finals where Shaquille O’Neal and the Lakers were the overwhelming favorites against Allen Iverson and the Sixers. In this case, LeBron is Goliath and Curry is David, which is unusual considering the Warriors are favorites.

Regardless, the video is magical and even with this extended break, I could not be more excited about the NBA Finals.
