The Golden State Warriors had a rough two game stretch in Los Angeles last week, losing to the Lakers and Clippers in a three day span. The Warriors had already beaten the Lakers twice this season and they did so with ease, so it should have been another simple win for the Dubs.

Unfortunately, the Lakers won by double digits and they were up comfortably for most of the game. They were making all their shots and the Warriors couldn’t keep up. Even former Lakers center Vlade Divac was getting buckets. He hit a half-court shot that won $90,000 for charity and he made it seem effortless. Five days later, Klay Thompson is still impressed by Divac’s range:

People hit half court shots all the time, but Divac made it seem like he does this everyday. He casually walked up to mid court and bounced the ball a few times. He then took a couple of steps and let it go. It was the perfect shot, nothing but net and Divac reacted like he’s done this countless times. It was that kind of night for the Lakers, they couldn’t miss either, which is why Thompson added the hashtag.

The Lakers shot 51 percent from the field and 46 from long distance, so the Warriors played the Lakers on a night they shot the ball extremely well. The Lakers and Warriors play one final time at Oracle Arena on March 16th. It’s unlikely the Lakers will be able to replicate that shooting performance, unless they ask Divac to shoot another half-court heave. That might be enough to inspire them again.
