After Klay Thompson dropped 37 points in one quarter, the basketball universe exploded. Thompson’s record setting performance was beautiful to watch and the guys over at Sports Science invited Thompson to their lab so they can decipher his shooting stroke.

Thompson is considered one of the best shooters in the NBA, but they broke down his shooting stroke at many different levels. One thing they discovered was that he keeps his eyes on the basket for 90 percent of his shooting motion.

You didn’t need science to know Thompson can be a deadly knock down shooter, but they decided to challenge the first time All-Star. They wanted to see how Thompson would shoot when it’s pitch black. He hit eight out of 10 shots while the lights off, which is incredible even for a shooter like Thompson.

This is where host John Brenkus explains how Thompson is able to knock down all those shots while not being able to see. It’s fascinating stuff. Not even total darkness is enough to slow down the Splash Brother.
