NBA: Golden State Warriors at Sacramento Kings

If the Warriors wanted to extend their wining streak to 10 games, they would have to fight the competitive Orlando Magic. With a ten point half time lead, they returned to the court slow and sluggish. After failing to score on multiple open shots, the Warriors found themselves in a bad situation. The Magic were gaining momentum and pushed the lead to as much as nine late in the fourth. Fortunately, the Warriors have Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry to make game changing plays when they matter most.

In case you live under a rock, the Warriors botched an alley-oop attempt to tie the game at 97. Elfrid Payton of the Magic ran the clock, but was unsuccessful in sealing the game. Draymond Green’s rebound led to a Curry transition jumper to make the Magic disappear. According to Jordan Ramirez, Kerr knew Curry had the utmost confidence in his three ball in transition:

His teammate Mo Speights took it to Twitter to show his enthusiasm.

Even when you felt the Magic had won this game late in the fourth quarter, the Warriors never gave up. It’s amazing how fast the Warriors can bounce back during the course of the game. They are so deadly from three point land that they are never really out of the game. Steve Kerr understands he has some of the best shooters in the world and has let them shoot freely from beyond the arc.

Kerr could have easily called a time-out and formulate a play for the final seconds, but he knows Curry is smart and allowed him to create freely. Curry admitted he was looking to drive to the basket, but Tobias Harris bit on the fake, which have Curry enough space to get the shot off. This is after he had missed three straight attempts, but Curry did not let that deter him from putting up one last three to try and win the game.
