The Golden State Warriors look to get back on track after a Mike Conley return fueled the Memphis Grizzlies to a win. With the series tied, the Dubs head to the FedEx Arena in Memphis for the third game of the series. The Splash Brothers were completely off and will look to make the Grizzlies work on the defensive end. With two different play styles, the team to control the tempo first may control the series too

1st Quarter

The Warriors got off to a fast start, they scored the first 4 points of the game. The Grizzlies responded by making some easy buckets, and made it difficult on the defensive end. After Memphis took a one point lead, the Warriors couldn’t hit a three pointer, but they got second chance opportunities and capitalized. The Warriors were looking to extend their 4 point lead, but they were having trouble making buckets, and the Grizzlies started pounding it down low. The Warriors looked out of sync and were committing to many turnovers. Steve Kerr went with the second unit late in the first quarter and even then had problems taking care of the ball. The Grizzlies took advantage and took a 23-20 lead into the second quarter along with the momentum.

2nd Quarter

It was a disappointing start to the second quarter. The Warriors turned it over and they could not hit a bucket. When you include the first quarter, it was a 8-0 run and the Warriors had not scored in over six minutes. The Grizzlies were pouncing on the Warriors and it was starting to get ugly. The Grizzlies kept scoring and the Warriors didn’t help their cause by getting dominated on the glass. The Warriors were now facing a double digit deficit and it was only getting larger. You expected to snap out of it, but the Grizzlies were in complete control. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both missed a free throw, which was unusual. Mike Conley put the Grizzlies up by 17 with a triple and it was all Grizzlies. The Warriors would hit a basket or two to give them hope, but he Grizzlies came back to ruin any type of comeback. Memphis was putting on a clinic and the Warriors looked flabbergasted. Golden State trailed Memphis 55-39 going into the break.

3rd Quarter

Klay Thompson got the second half started with a basket right in front of Tony Allen’s face, which could have helped his confidence. The Warriors looked like they did in the first half. Finally there was a spark and the Warriors went on a little run. It was a 10-2 run for the Dubs and the lead was down to single digits. However, the referees killed the little momentum the Warriors had with ticky tack fouls. The Warriors actually had some good stops, but they couldn’t capitalize on the offensive end. The Warriors were just not themselves and the Grizzlies had everything going for them. It also didn’t help that the Warriors were in foul trouble. Thompson, Green and Bogut all had foul trouble and the Warriors were going to need a miraculous comeback to get the win. After three quarters, the Warriors trailed 79-64.

4th Quarter

The Grizzlies scored four points to start the quarter and the lead was up to 19. Speights scored six straight points and the lead was 13, but the offense stalled when Speights left with a right calf injury. At this point, the Warriors were running out of time. The way Memphis has been playing defense, it’s hard to see the Warriors mount a comeback. The Warriors then decided to prove me wrong by going on a 20-5 run, it didn’t feel like it because of all the fouls memphis committed, but they finally found some life. They got the lead down to four, but a Courtney Lee triple got it up to seven and it killed most of the momentum. The Warriors had their chances, but in the end they could not make it happen. The Warriors lose to the Grizzlies.
