NBA: Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans

The Warriors were coming into New Orleans prepared to take on Anthony Davis, but he missed the game with a chest injury, so the Warriors were looking to take advantage. The Dubs were once again without Andrew Bogut, so both teams lost their defensive anchors.

The Splash Bros. were looking to continue the streak by putting the team on their backs, but the Warriors have enough players that will contribute and must pick up the slack left by Bogut. In case you didn’t watch the game, here’s our instant recap:

1st Quarter

The Warriors came out like themselves to start the game and they were fueled by Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The Pelicans on the other hand are without Anthony Davis, but Jrue Holiday came out strong and had 8 points in the first six minutes of the game. Tyreke Evans then decided to join the party and contributed 7 points anf the score was tied at 21. The young Pelicans kept up with the Warriors and played inspired basketball. The Warriors have five turnovers so far and that’s why they found themselves down by one. The Pelicans shot 61 percent in the first and they took a 31-28 lead into the second.

2nd Quarter

The Warriors don’t look sharp, but they are still good enough to take the lead. They needed to watch their turnovers, they looked sloppy. Livingston continues to play well for the Warriors, he can score, but more importantly he can create for his teammates. His impact on the defensive end is over looked. The Splash Bros came back into the game and right away they made their presence felt. The Warriors went on a 9-2 run after a couple of 3s from Curry and Thompson. From there, the Warriors took control and this was their moment to pounce. Iguodala replaced Harrison Barnes after he got elbowed in the face and played extremely well. The Warriors took a 60-51 lead into halftime.
