Recently rumors have surfaced that Warriors Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin has turned his attention to landing another "Big Ticket" to go along with his new Hall of Fame Head Coach.  Speculation has been fueled by the addition of DaJuan Wagner to the roster and talk of Dermarr Johnson and Melvin Ely joining the team soon is making Warrior fans wonder what the final roster might look like come opening day.  The overabundance of quality players currently on the roster and the speculation of adding two more certainly makes a major trade seem likely.

Kevin Garnett “The Big Ticket” is one of the NBA’s top attractions.  KG as he is known is an eight time All-Star, 6 time All-NBA and 2003-04 Most Valuable Player.  He is the real deal, and he might be shopping for a new team to further his aspirations for an NBA championship.  Oakland is the last place you would think an NBA All-Star like Garnett would consider to pursue this specific course of action, however with the addition of head coach Don Nelson and the lure of an up-tempo guard oriented attack, suddenly the Bay Area doesn’t look like such a bad place to be.

KG has grown tired of Minnesota and the organizations inability to pair him with other talented players.  He is tired of being blamed for the team never making it out of the first round of the playoffs.  It just might be time for a change of scenery for the 30 year old 11 year veteran.  If Minnesota were to decide to re-build, The Warriors would be in the mix.  Their roster is stocked with quality young players and they have quite a few draft picks over the next couple of seasons.

It’s no secret that Mullin covets Garnett, I doubt there are many GM’s around the league that wouldn’t trade away half their roster for a chance at a guy like Garnett.  After coming directly out of High School into the league he has been nothing short of an overnight sensation...He is truly a "Superstar" in every sense of the word.  From a business standpoint the move would pay for itself right away.  He didn't earn the nickname "The Big Ticket" by accident.  Fans would flock to the TBD arena and the Warriors would sell out every home game on the schedule next year within 2 weeks of his arrival.

Garnett and Nelson are a match made in NBA heaven.  Nelson typically doesn’t care for big men because they are slow and lumbering and don’t have basketball skills.  Garnett is clearly the exception to that rule.  Garnett is a PG in the body of a 7 footer.  He has a nice handle and a silky smooth mid range game to go along with his dominant low post abilities, he is the ever so rare combination of size and grace and he takes and makes big shots in the fourth quarter.  Kevin Garnett defines the term “Warrior” on the basketball court and the combination of Baron Davis, Kevin Garnett, Don Nelson and a strong supporting cast could be the “Ticket” to an NBA championship.
