According to several league sources, the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of trading Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics.  Boston thought they had Garnett in a deal before the NBA draft but came up empty handed as Garnett did not want to go to Boston.  Garnett has since softened his stance and would accept a deal to Boston which acquired Ray Allen in a draft day trade.  Garnett, Allen and Paul Pierce would immediately make Boston one of the favorites in the eastern conference.

Although the specifics of the trade are not known, we do know that Boston would ship promising Pf Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff and a combination of either Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair  or Rajan Rondo.

 If the trade goes through it would come as a dissappointment to man Warrior fans who wanted Garnett in a Warriors uniform.  Golden State would be forced to look elsewhere for a rebounding Pf, perhaps making a more serious run at Drew Gooden or signing Andersen Varejao to a offer sheet.
