Isaiah Flynn AKA: SinCity Warrior
I have been a fan of the Warriors since I attended my first game in 1987 and Ben McDonald hit a buzzer beating half court shot against the Denver Nuggets to send the game into overtime. The Warriors went on to lose the game in OT, but I got my first taste of NBA action and was hooked.
I was an employee of the Warriors on a marketing internship from 1996 – 1998. I assisted with the re-location of season ticket holders from the old arena to the new arena via San Jose (what a nightmare). I helped to open the New Arena, and dealt with the fallout from the Latrell Sprewell choking incident. I left the organization in October of 1998 after accepting a permanent front office position with the Oakland Athletics Baseball Company where I worked at various capacities within the Marketing department for four seasons. I was a courtside club season ticket holder for the Warriors at the Arena from 1999 through 2001 and attended the NBA All-Star Game in Oakland in 2000 (hanging from the rafters with the rest of the long suffering season ticket holders).
I attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon and majored in Journalism and Broadcast Communications. I was a writer and photographer as well as a disc jockey in my earlier years until getting involved with professional sports marketing. My passion for sports and my background in journalism inspired me to write some articles for WarriorsWorld.net and I have covered all three seasons of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League for Warriorsworld.net and Most Valuable Network.
I am 34 years old from Calistoga, California in the Napa Valley. I have lived throughout the Bay Area, including stops in San Francisco, Concord, Pleasanton, Vallejo and Napa. I currently reside in Las Vegas with my wife “Alexandria” and I have an 18 month old son “Jack” and two 2 year old Black Labs “Lola & Layla”. When I am not posting on Warriors World, I am a Realtor and semi-professional poker player.
Del has graciously offered to allow me to write an editorial column for the main page on a regular basis which I will begin some time in October. I hope to be able to inspire some intelligent basketball discussions and add to the overall success of the site. In time I will do my best to develop some of my relationships within the organization and become somewhat of a Warriors insider. I would like to be able to crack the secretive shell that surrounds the organization and provide some insight for the average Warrior’s fan. After all, the Warriors have the best and most loyal fans in the game and they deserve to know what’s going on with the team.
